Rosie Freiha on self respect

On Self Respect

Self respect.

What is that?

Well, what does respecting another mean?

Loving them
Deferring to them.
Listening to them.

So self respect is simply:

Loving YOU.
Deferring to YOU.
Listening to YOU.

When was the last time you did that?

When was the last time you gave yourself the attention and care that you need?

I started off the year with a bang. I had plans and dreams and schedules. I decided to choose to be the person who gets it all done.

Mondays would be great.
Tuesdays are my client day, so of course I show up all day.
Wednesdays are my client spillover day, so my morning is set too.
But by Wednesday afternoon/Thursday, my motivation was shot.

Twice, I sat down for my weekly review on a Friday afternoon, and twice I noticed that my Thursday/Fridays tended to be highly unproductive.

Because I wasn’t doing what I WANTED all week. I was just doing what was on the calendar.

(Or at least, I was MEANT to be doing what was on the calendar; but, I was actually procrastinating.)

So by Thursday/Friday, my motivation and inspiration were gone, and I was just going through the motions.

This week I decided to let myself be led by intuition. I literally did what I felt like doing. That meant lots of beach walks, cafe sessions, thinking and journaling.

And, because I’m human, lots of questioning myself, worrying if this was a good idea, and beating myself up a little bit that I wasn’t being productive.

But funnily enough, all the “work” (as in, the action based stuff that moves projects forward) that DID get need to get done, got done in an hour or so at the end of the day.

AND, I’ve had breakthrough after breakthrough this week. I’ve gotten clear on the message I want to bring into the world after 4 long months of soul searching. That’s a whole new business I’ll be launching soon.

I haven’t spoken about this publicly so much, but I’ve been on a spiritual evolution and journey for the last year. This week, I’ve had some deep spiritual breakthroughs as well. Weird and crazy experiences, from seeing Jesus in the sky (I’m not even Christian) to exactly the right words of an English language song (what are the odds in a non-English speaking country) playing at exactly the right moment about 5 times.

Everything has catapulted forward, even though I didn’t DO that much this week.

In trusting myself, and respecting myself, I’ve allowed the smoothest path to open before my eyes. No need to exhaust myself smashing my own path through the jungle.

So, where could you give yourself the time and space to allow the answers to come to you? What would stepping into YOUR intuition look like to you? Leave me a comment and let me know!

With love,

P.S. I’m thinking of creating a 30 day Journaling course sharing my practices for getting into alignment and unleveling my mindset every day. Is this something you’d be interested in? Let me know in the comments! If I get enough ‘Yes’, I’ll move that project forward 🙂
